MiEnergy Next Generation Lineworker Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a graduating high school senior.
• Pursue postsecondary education or training as an electrical lineworker.
• Provide proof of acceptance into a lineworker training program.
• Have a parent or legal guardian who is a MiEnergy Cooperative member.
• The parent or legal guardian's principal residence must be located at the address associated with the active MiEnergy Cooperative account.

Requirements

• Complete the MiEnergy Next Generation Lineworker Scholarship application.
• Provide proof of acceptance into an electrical lineworker training program.
• Submit one letter of recommendation from a non-relative who can speak to your character and career fit.
• Submit a short essay explaining why you are pursuing a career as a lineworker and how you plan to achieve that goal.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm that you are a graduating high school senior from an eligible MiEnergy Cooperative member household.
2. 2Apply to and receive acceptance from an electrical lineworker training program.
3. 3Complete the Next Generation Lineworker Scholarship application.
4. 4Provide proof of acceptance into the lineworker program.
5. 5Obtain a recommendation letter from a non-relative who can discuss your character and suitability for a lineworker career.
6. 6Write the required short essay explaining your motivation for becoming a lineworker and your plan for achieving that career goal.
7. 7Submit the completed application and supporting materials by the published deadline.
