MiEnergy Community Service Scholarship

The MiEnergy Community Service Scholarship recognizes graduating high school seniors who demonstrate cooperative spirit through service to others. The scholarship supports eligible dependents of MiEnergy Cooperative members in southeastern Minnesota and northeastern Iowa who are continuing their education at an accredited technical school, college, or university.

Eligibility

  • Be a high school senior graduating during the current school year.
  • Continue education after high school at an accredited technical school, college, or university.
  • Be the son, daughter, or legal dependent of a MiEnergy Cooperative member with an active electric account.
  • The MiEnergy membership must remain active when scholarship funds are dispersed.
  • Demonstrate community service according to the scholarship instructions.
  • Have at least a B grade-point average.
  • Children of MiEnergy Cooperative employees and directors are not eligible.
  • Residents receiving municipal electric service and billed by specified cities within MiEnergy's service territory are not eligible.

Requirements

  • Complete the MiEnergy Community Service Scholarship application.
  • Complete the Activities List form.
  • Complete the Activity Leader Signatures form.
  • Submit a high school transcript.
  • Submit a cover letter.

How to Apply

  1. 1Confirm that your parent or legal guardian has an eligible active MiEnergy Cooperative electric account.
  2. 2Complete the current Community Service Scholarship application.
  3. 3Complete the required Activities List.
  4. 4Obtain the required signatures on the Activity Leader Signatures form.
  5. 5Prepare the required cover letter according to MiEnergy's published guidelines.
  6. 6Obtain your high school transcript.
  7. 7Submit all five required application components by the published deadline.
  8. 8If selected, follow MiEnergy or your high school's instructions for receiving the award after successful completion of your first college semester.
