MATA Professional Level Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a first- or second-year graduate student enrolled in a CAATE-approved professional athletic training degree program.
• Be preparing to graduate with an athletic training degree and sit for the BOC exam during the 2025-26 or 2026-27 academic year.
• Intend to pursue a professional career in athletic training.
• Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Be a Minnesota Athletic Trainers' Association member in good standing.

Requirements

• Complete the MATA Professional Level Scholarship application.
• Submit a typed one-page essay about interest in athletic training, professional goals, and aspirations.
• Submit one letter of recommendation from a sponsoring athletic trainer.
• Submit current transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate athletic training coursework.
• Provide information about athletic training experience, conferences, organizations, activities, leadership positions, awards, and recognitions.

How to Apply

4. 4Write the required one-page athletic training essay.
5. 5Request a recommendation from a sponsoring athletic trainer.

8. 8Mail the recommendation and transcript materials by the published postmark deadline.
