Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship Program

The Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to eligible Florida undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need, meet academic requirements, and attend Bethune-Cookman University, Edward Waters University, Florida A&M University, or Florida Memorial University. Each participating institution manages its own application process, deadlines, eligibility review, and award distribution.

Eligibility
- Be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, as determined by the participating institution.
- Attend Bethune-Cookman University, Edward Waters University, Florida A&M University, or Florida Memorial University.
- Enroll as a degree-seeking undergraduate student.
- Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per term or the equivalent.
- Have earned at least a 3.0 unweighted cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent.
- Demonstrate financial need according to standards established by the participating institution.
- Not have previously earned a bachelor's degree.
- Not owe repayment or be in default under a state or federal grant, loan, or scholarship program unless satisfactory repayment arrangements have been made.
- Meet all additional eligibility requirements established by the participating institution.
Requirements
- Apply for admission to one of the four participating institutions.
- Contact the institution's financial-aid office for its Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship procedures and deadline.
- Complete any institutional scholarship or financial-aid application required by the school.
- Complete the FAFSA if required by the participating institution to establish financial need.
- Submit any academic and financial-aid verification documents requested by the institution.
- Enroll in at least 12 undergraduate credit hours per funded term.
- For renewal, maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative institutional GPA.
- Earn the equivalent of at least 12 credit hours for each funded term.
