The Marion Joy Morse Scholarship Fund provides scholarship assistance to students pursuing education in a medical field who were either born on Mount Desert Island or attended a school located on Mount Desert Island. Scholarships may be renewed for up to four years of education.

Eligibility

  • Be pursuing education in a medical field.
  • Have been born on Mount Desert Island, or
  • Have attended a school located on Mount Desert Island.

Requirements

  • Complete the Marion Joy Morse Scholarship application.
  • Provide the applicant's place of birth and/or history of attendance at Mount Desert Island schools.
  • Identify the school or college the applicant plans to attend.
  • Provide the medical course of study.
  • Submit a one-page essay explaining the applicant's choice of study, what the scholarship would mean to them, and any unusual obligations affecting the student or family.
  • Submit a high school transcript.
