Eligibility

  • Be admitted to an accredited program in allopathic medicine, osteopathic medicine, veterinary medicine, or dentistry.
  • Be pursuing an M.D., D.O., D.M.D., D.D.S., or D.V.M. degree.
  • Have been a Maine resident for purposes other than education for at least one year before matriculating into the eligible professional program.
  • Demonstrate financial need.

Requirements

  • Complete the Maine Health Professions Loan application.
  • Submit the required essay.
  • Provide undergraduate and graduate academic transcripts.
  • Provide a Maine state income tax return.
  • Provide a current driver's license or state-issued identification.
  • Provide vehicle registration or indicate that no vehicle is owned.
