M.J. Foster Promise Program

Eligibility

  • Be a Louisiana resident.
  • Be at least 21 years old when initially applying.
  • Hold a high school diploma, HiSET, GED, or equivalent, or be co-enrolled in an approved high school completion program.
  • Enroll in an eligible associate degree, certificate, or short-term credential program.
  • Meet all program eligibility requirements established by LOSFA.

Requirements

  • Complete the M.J. Foster Promise Program application each award year.
  • Complete the FAFSA annually if enrolled in a Title IV eligible program.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA in graded programs.
  • Remain continuously enrolled unless granted an approved exception.
  • Agree to live and work in Louisiana for at least one year after completing the funded program.

How to Apply

  3. 3Notify your school's financial aid office after receiving eligibility.
  4. 4Your institution bills LOSFA directly for eligible costs.
