Eligibility

  • Be a licensed vocational nurse or meet the professional-status requirements established by HCAI.
  • Be enrolled in or accepted to an eligible California associate degree nursing program.
  • Be preparing to qualify as a registered nurse.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States throughout the required service period.
  • Agree to provide direct patient care at a qualifying California facility after completing the nursing program.
  • Meet all additional requirements published in the applicable HCAI grant guide.
  • Not have another service obligation that overlaps with the HCAI scholarship commitment.

Requirements

  • Complete the HCAI Funding eApp scholarship application.
  • Provide proof of current vocational nursing licensure or other required professional documentation.
  • Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance in an eligible associate degree nursing program.
  • Submit an official cost-of-attendance document from the educational institution.
  • Provide all additional forms and supporting documents required by HCAI.
  • Sign a grant agreement containing the required California service obligation if selected.
