Eligibility

  • Be a Louisiana resident.
  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Receive a Federal Pell Grant.
  • Have remaining financial need after federal, state, institutional, and scholarship gift aid is applied.
  • Attend an eligible Louisiana postsecondary institution at least half-time.

Requirements

  • Complete the FAFSA for each academic year.
  • Continue to qualify for a Federal Pell Grant.
  • Continue to demonstrate remaining financial need.
  • Maintain enrollment of at least six credit hours at a semester-based institution or four credit hours at a quarter-based institution.

How to Apply

  1. 1Complete and submit the FAFSA for the applicable academic year.
  2. 2List the Louisiana institution you plan to attend on your FAFSA.
  3. 3Your institution's financial aid office determines GO Grant eligibility based on your FAFSA information, Pell Grant eligibility, remaining financial need, and available institutional allocation.
  4. 4Contact your school's financial aid office for information about its GO Grant awarding and packaging policies.
