Lloyd F. Hutt Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a high school senior, including eligible homeschool students.
• Plan to enter a trade school, college, or university in the next academic year.
• Be a resident of Michigan or Florida, or be a Lake Michigan Credit Union member or child of an LMCU member.
• Provide evidence of acceptance and enrollment before scholarship payment is made.
• LMCU employees, officers, directors, certain affiliated-company employees, and their immediate family members are not eligible.

Requirements

• Submit an original essay responding to the annual scholarship prompt.
• Keep the essay between 750 and 1,500 words.
• Follow all published formatting requirements.
• Do not include identifying information such as the applicant's name or school name in the essay.
• Submit the essay as a PDF.
• Provide acceptance and enrollment documentation if selected.

How to Apply

1. 1Review the annual Lloyd F. Hutt Scholarship prompt.
2. 2Write an original 750-1,500 word essay.
3. 3Revise the essay for organization, originality, clarity, grammar, spelling, and strength of argument.
4. 4Remove all identifying information from the essay.
5. 5Format the essay according to LMCU requirements and save it as a PDF.
6. 6Submit the essay through the scholarship portal before the deadline.
7. 7If selected, provide proof of acceptance and enrollment at an accredited trade school, college, or university.
