The Lloyd F. Hutt Scholarship is an annual essay competition for graduating high school seniors pursuing education at a trade school, college, or university. Eligibility

  • Be a high school senior, including eligible homeschool students.
  • Plan to enter a trade school, college, or university in the next academic year.
  • Be a resident of Michigan or Florida, or be a Lake Michigan Credit Union member or child of an LMCU member.
  • Provide evidence of acceptance and enrollment before scholarship payment is made.
  • LMCU employees, officers, directors, certain affiliated-company employees, and their immediate family members are not eligible.

Requirements

  • Submit an original essay responding to the annual scholarship prompt.
  • Keep the essay between 750 and 1,500 words.
  • Follow all published formatting requirements.
  • Do not include identifying information such as the applicant's name or school name in the essay.
  • Submit the essay as a PDF.
  • Provide acceptance and enrollment documentation if selected.
