Eligibility

  • Be within the MSGCU field of membership.
  • Be a graduating high school senior planning to major in Education or a current college student already majoring in Education.
  • High school applicants must provide proof of acceptance into a School of Education at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
  • College applicants must be enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year college or university School of Education.
  • Non-members may apply but must become MSGCU members if selected.
  • MSGCU member accounts must be in good standing.
  • Have not previously received an MSGCU scholarship.
  • Employees and officials of MSGCU, their immediate families, and persons living in their households are not eligible.

Requirements

  • Complete the MSGCU scholarship application.
  • Submit a high school transcript if applying as a graduating senior.
  • Submit an official college transcript if applying as a current college student.
  • Submit proof of acceptance into a School of Education when applicable.
  • Submit a resume outlining school activities, academic achievements, and community service.
  • Submit an original 500-1,000 word essay about the most important lesson the applicant plans to teach future students both inside and outside the classroom.
