Eligibility

  • Have a high school diploma or GED, or be a high school student in good standing who will graduate during the current academic year.
  • Be a dependent of a parent who suffered an employment-related fatality or injuries that had a significant adverse effect on family income.
  • Attend an eligible vocational or technical school, junior college, undergraduate program, or graduate program.
  • Attend full-time unless an exception is approved.
  • Maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA while receiving scholarship support.
  • Meet the admission requirements of the institution attended.

Requirements

  • Complete the Kids' Chance of Nebraska scholarship application.
  • Provide the Nebraska workers' compensation claim number if available.
  • Provide the First Report of Injury if available, or a description of the parent's Nebraska employment status at the time of injury.
  • Provide FAFSA documentation if available.
  • Provide applicable financial-aid and institutional financial documentation.
  • Provide an official transcript of current grades.
  • Provide an official schedule of upcoming enrollment.
  • Provide documentation establishing admission eligibility before an award is made.
