Eligibility

  • Be a licensed veterinarian in Kentucky.
  • Have earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree within the previous 10 years.
  • Practice in a designated veterinary shortage area or underserved rural area.
  • Provide qualifying livestock veterinary services.
  • Have more than $75,000 in eligible student loan debt.

Requirements

  • Complete the KHEAA application.
  • Submit current student loan statements.
  • Maintain qualifying veterinary practice for five consecutive years.
