Kenny C. Guinn Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility

• Satisfy the statutory eligibility requirements for the Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship.
• Be entering the senior year at an eligible institution.
• Declare a major in elementary or secondary education.
• Have at least a 3.5 cumulative college GPA or verified equivalent achievement.
• Commit to teaching in Nevada after graduation.
• Have a record of community service.

Requirements

• Submit one complete application.
• Provide a resume covering school and community involvement, awards, and achievements.
• Write an essay of no more than 500 words about the scholarship and how the applicant will use an education degree to benefit Nevada.
• Provide a community-service statement with verifiable references.
• Arrange for one to three non-family recommendation letters to be sent directly by the writers.
• Submit an official college transcript.
