Karlovetz-Favero Scholarship

The Karlovetz-Favero Scholarship supports a Missouri NEA Aspiring Educators member who is enrolled in a Missouri teacher education program and pursuing a career in teaching. The scholarship honors longtime Missouri NEA leader Martha Karlovetz and her daughter, elementary teacher Linda Favero.

Eligibility
- Be an NEA Aspiring Educators member.
- Be currently enrolled in a Missouri teacher education program.
- Be pursuing a career in teaching.
- Use the scholarship for undergraduate study during the fall semester.
Requirements
- Complete the Karlovetz-Favero Scholarship application.
- Provide college, degree, major, minor, and current scholarship or grant information.
- Submit an attachment listing volunteer work, extracurricular activities, college and employment experiences, MNEA or NEA Aspiring Educators involvement, leadership positions, awards, honors, and achievements.
- Submit a one-page essay explaining why the applicant deserves the scholarship and how the award will help complete a teacher education degree.
- Submit two recent letters of recommendation.
- One recommendation must come from a professor, teacher, or faculty advisor.
- The second recommendation must come from another non-relative.
- Finalists may be contacted for an interview or additional information.
