Eligibility

  • Be accepted into an eligible Kansas nursing program leading to LPN or RN licensure.
  • Pre-nursing coursework alone does not qualify for scholarship funding.
  • Secure an eligible Kansas healthcare sponsor that agrees to provide partial scholarship funding and full-time employment after licensure.
  • Enroll in the nursing program according to the scholarship's academic requirements.
  • Complete the FAFSA and Kansas state financial aid application by the applicable deadline.
  • Meet all additional eligibility requirements established by the Kansas Board of Regents.
  • Applicants who already hold another degree may still qualify if they have not previously received RN licensure.

Requirements

  • Complete the Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship application.
  • Complete the FAFSA.
  • Secure an eligible sponsoring healthcare facility.
  • Complete and submit the required Nursing Sponsorship Agreement.
  • Sign the required service agreement and promissory note.
  • Complete the nursing program and obtain LPN or RN licensure.
  • Begin full-time employment with the sponsoring facility within six months after licensure.
  • Work for the sponsor for one year for each year of scholarship assistance received.

How to Apply

  1. 1Apply to and gain acceptance into an eligible Kansas LPN or RN nursing program.
  2. 2Identify an eligible Kansas healthcare facility willing to serve as your scholarship sponsor.
  3. 3Complete the FAFSA.
  4. 4Complete the Kansas state financial aid application.
  5. 5Complete the Nursing Sponsorship Agreement with the sponsoring facility.
  6. 6Submit all required scholarship and sponsorship materials by May 1.
  7. 7If selected, sign the required service agreement and promissory note.
  8. 8After completing the nursing program and earning licensure, begin full-time employment with the sponsoring facility.
