The Kansas Hero's Scholarship waives undergraduate tuition and required fees at eligible Kansas public postsecondary institutions for qualifying spouses and dependents of certain deceased or disabled public safety officers, military personnel, prisoners of war, and eligible Kansas National Guard members.

Eligibility

  • Be the qualifying spouse or dependent of an eligible deceased or permanently disabled public safety officer, military member, or prisoner of war as defined by Kansas law.
  • Kansas National Guard dependents may qualify through the National Guard Educational Assistance Program.
  • Attend an eligible Kansas public postsecondary institution.
  • Pursue undergraduate coursework.
  • Meet all Kansas Board of Regents eligibility requirements.
