JXN Water Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a senior at a Jackson Public School District high school, Hinds County School District high school, or Clinton High School.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
• Have substantial coursework in STEM.
• Plan to attend a Hinds Community College campus located in Hinds County or Jackson State University.
• Pursue a STEM discipline that could lead to a career in water or wastewater operations and management.

Requirements

• Complete the online scholarship application.
• Provide a high school transcript.
• Submit two letters of recommendation.
• Obtain one recommendation from a teacher who taught you for at least one semester in a STEM subject.
• Obtain one recommendation from an unrelated adult who can speak to your character.
• Provide a statement explaining why you selected your field of study.
• Submit a 500-word essay responding to one of the published JXN Water prompts.

2. 2Upload your transcript.
3. 3Obtain both required recommendation letters.
4. 4Prepare your field-of-study statement.
5. 5Choose one of the published water-related essay prompts and write the required 500-word response.
6. 6Submit all materials by the published deadline.
