Iowa Workforce Grant

The Iowa Workforce Grant supports Iowa residents who have completed at least 60 college credit hours and are finishing eligible undergraduate programs tied to high-demand occupations. The program provides need-based grant funding to students at Iowa's three public universities and may also lead to an additional workforce incentive payment after graduation and qualifying Iowa employment.

Eligibility

  • Be an Iowa resident.
  • Attend Iowa State University, the University of Iowa, or the University of Northern Iowa.
  • Enroll in an eligible undergraduate program of study connected to a high-demand occupation.
  • Have completed at least 60 college credit hours.
  • Enroll in at least three credit hours per semester.
  • Complete the FAFSA by the state deadline.
  • Have a Student Aid Index of 7,000 or less for the 2026–2027 academic year.
  • Meet all other Iowa state financial-aid eligibility requirements.

  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Remain enrolled in at least three credit hours during funded semesters.
  • Continue meeting financial-need requirements.
