The Iowa National Guard Service Scholarship provides education benefits to eligible members of the Iowa Army and Air National Guard pursuing their first undergraduate degree at eligible Iowa colleges and universities. Award amounts are determined annually by the Iowa Adjutant General and are reduced by any Federal Tuition Assistance received.

Eligibility

  • Be an Iowa resident.
  • Serve as a member of an Iowa Army or Air National Guard unit during each term benefits are received.
  • Satisfactorily complete required Iowa National Guard training.
  • Maintain satisfactory performance of Guard duties.
  • Pursue a first undergraduate degree at an eligible Iowa college or university.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Complete the FAFSA and Iowa Financial Aid Application by the applicable deadline.
  • Apply for and utilize all available Federal Tuition Assistance.
