Eligibility

  • Be an Iowa resident.
  • Serve as a member of an Iowa Army or Air National Guard unit while receiving the scholarship.
  • Satisfactorily complete required initial active-duty training.
  • Maintain satisfactory performance of National Guard duties.
  • Enroll in an educational program approved by the Iowa Adjutant General.
  • Pursue a certificate or competency-based credential that is not eligible for federal Title IV financial aid.
  • Attend an eligible Iowa college or university offering the approved educational program.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Complete the Iowa Financial Aid Application by the applicable deadline.

Requirements

  • Confirm that the proposed professional credential or training program has been approved by the Iowa Adjutant General.
  • Enroll at an eligible Iowa institution.
  • Provide any military-service or program documentation requested by the Iowa National Guard.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Remain in satisfactory standing with the Iowa National Guard.
