Indiana Workforce Ready Grant

The Indiana Workforce Ready Grant, part of the Next Level Jobs initiative, provides last-dollar financial aid for eligible high-value certificate programs leading to careers in Indiana's most in-demand industries. The grant covers remaining tuition and mandatory fees after other applicable financial aid has been applied.

Eligibility

  • Be an Indiana resident.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.
  • Have a high school diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • Have less than an associate or bachelor's degree.
  • Not have previously earned a certificate currently covered by the Workforce Ready Grant.
  • Enroll in a qualifying high-value certificate program through an approved Indiana training provider.
  • Meet state financial-aid eligibility requirements when required by the selected program or provider.
  • Complete the FAFSA when required for the selected program or provider.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • For the 2026–2027 academic year, be an independent student or a dependent student continuing an existing Workforce Ready Grant-eligible program.
  • First-time dependent students are not eligible for the Workforce Ready Grant during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Requirements

  • Select a qualifying certificate program offered through an approved training provider.
  • Complete the Workforce Ready Grant or Next Level Jobs interest form.
  • Complete the FAFSA when required by the program or training provider.
  • Provide residency, citizenship, education, and enrollment information.
  • Complete only courses that apply directly to the approved certificate program.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout the funded program.

How to Apply

  2. 2Choose an approved program and training provider.
  3. 3Complete the online Workforce Ready Grant interest form.
  4. 4Respond to the training provider when contacted about enrollment and next steps.
  5. 5Complete the FAFSA if required for the selected program or provider.
  6. 6Submit any requested eligibility and enrollment documentation.
  7. 7Confirm the remaining tuition and mandatory fees covered by the grant with the provider's financial aid office.
