Indiana Adult Student Grant

The Indiana Adult Student Grant provides need-based financial assistance to financially independent adult students who are beginning or completing an associate degree, first bachelor's degree, or eligible certificate. The renewable grant may be used toward tuition and regularly assessed fees at eligible Indiana institutions.

Eligibility

  • Be an Indiana resident.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.
  • Be financially independent as determined by the FAFSA.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Be enrolled or plan to enroll in a program leading to an associate degree or first bachelor's degree.
  • Certificate students must attend an eligible certificate program at Ivy Tech Community College or Vincennes University.
  • Enroll in at least six credit hours or the equivalent during an academic term.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the institution.
  • Meet any additional eligibility criteria established by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.

Requirements

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
  • Complete the Adult Student Grant application through ScholarTrack.
  • Create or maintain an active Student ScholarTrack account.
  • Provide enrollment and financial information requested through the application.
  • Enroll in at least six credit hours during each funded academic term.
  • Complete at least 18 credit hours during the previous academic year to renew the award.
