The Illinois Veteran Grant provides tuition and mandatory fee benefits for eligible Illinois veterans attending Illinois public community colleges and public universities. Eligible recipients may receive the equivalent of four academic years of benefits.

Eligibility

  • Meet Illinois residency requirements established by ISAC.
  • Have qualifying federal active-duty military service.
  • Have received an honorable discharge for the most recent period of federal active-duty service or currently be honorably serving.
  • Attend an Illinois public community college or public university.
  • Maintain the minimum academic standards required by the institution.
  • Not be in default on state or federal student loans or owe a grant refund.

Requirements

  • Complete the Illinois Veteran Grant application through the ISAC Student Portal.
  • Submit military service documentation, including DD Form 214 or equivalent when applicable.
  • Provide residency documentation if requested.
  • Submit any additional supporting documentation required by ISAC.
