The IHS Health Professions Scholarship provides substantial educational funding to qualified American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate and graduate students pursuing eligible health-professions degrees. Eligibility

  • Be a member of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native village.
  • Be enrolled in an eligible undergraduate or graduate health-professions degree program.
  • Pursue a health profession currently approved for IHS scholarship funding.
  • Agree to fulfill the required service commitment after completing academic and applicable post-graduate clinical training.

  • Submit required faculty evaluations.
  • Provide documentation of membership in a federally recognized Tribe or Alaska Native village.
