IHERF Health Care Careers Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a traditional or nontraditional student enrolled in an accredited healthcare education program.
• Be enrolled in a program leading to professional licensure or an eligible clinical laboratory degree.
• Be within three years of completing the professional education required for the qualifying healthcare career.
• Pursue one of the healthcare occupations currently identified as eligible by IHERF.
• Agree to fulfill the applicable Iowa hospital employment commitment associated with the scholarship award.
• Meet all additional requirements established for the current scholarship cycle.

Requirements

• Complete the IHERF Health Care Careers Scholarship application.
• Provide information about the applicant's healthcare education program and expected completion date.
• Describe professional goals and interest in working in Iowa healthcare.
• Provide academic and enrollment information requested through the application.
• Submit any required essays, statements, references, or supporting documentation.
• If selected, fulfill one year of employment at an Iowa hospital for each year of scholarship support received.
