HBA Southeastern Michigan Skilled Trades Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be approximately 18 to 25 years old at the time of application.
• Pursue a career in construction.
• Qualify through direct hire by a residential builder or subcontractor, post-high-school construction trades training, or a two-year college construction or construction-trades program.
• Applicants originally from Southeastern Michigan receive preference whenever practical.

Requirements

• Complete the HBA Skilled Trades Scholarship application.
• Submit high school transcripts.
• Submit two written recommendations.
• One recommendation must be from a teacher from within the previous two years.
• One recommendation must be from an employer or other non-relative adult.
• Provide proof of hire by a builder or subcontractor, acceptance into a trades-training program, or acceptance into a two-year college program.
• Complete the written scholarship responses.

3. 3Provide information about your construction career goals and financial needs.
4. 4Upload your high school transcript.
5. 5Obtain the two required recommendations.
6. 6Provide proof of employment or acceptance into your qualifying training or college program.
7. 7Submit all materials by June 16, 2027.
8. 8Be prepared for a personal interview if requested by the selection committee.
