Eligibility
- Be a resident of the State of Hawaiʻi.
- Graduate from a Hawaiʻi public high school.
- Be admitted to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa as an incoming first-year student.
- Declare a Bachelor of Science major in Travel Industry Management.
- Have at least a 3.45 cumulative unweighted high school GPA.
- Demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a hospitality, tourism, culinary, or transportation career in Hawaiʻi.
- Meet all additional admissions and scholarship requirements established for the current cycle.
Requirements
- Complete the Hawaiʻi Tourism Hoʻoilina Scholarship application.
- Submit the required essays or written responses.
- Provide academic and extracurricular information.
- Submit a high school transcript.
- Provide any recommendations or supporting documents requested for the current cycle.
- If selected, enroll full time in at least 12 credits as a declared Travel Industry Management major.
- Maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative college GPA.
- Complete 200 internship hours.
- Complete 200 community-service hours during the four-year scholarship period.
- Complete the required Hawaiian-culture coursework.
- Hold a leadership position in a Travel Industry Management student organization for at least one academic year.
