State of Hawaiʻi B Plus Scholarship

The State of Hawaiʻi B Plus Scholarship provides need-based financial assistance to eligible Hawaiʻi public high school graduates who earned at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, completed a rigorous high school curriculum, and enroll full time at a University of Hawaiʻi campus immediately after graduation.

Eligibility

  • Be a bona fide Hawaiʻi resident for tuition purposes.
  • Graduate from a public high school in the State of Hawaiʻi.
  • Have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Complete the State of Hawaiʻi's required rigorous high school curriculum or earn a qualifying Board of Education Recognition Diploma.
  • Demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA.
  • Be admitted to and attend a University of Hawaiʻi campus as a freshman during the fall semester immediately after high school graduation.
  • Enroll full time as a classified undergraduate student.
  • Meet any additional financial-aid requirements established by the student's University of Hawaiʻi campus.

Requirements

  • Complete the FAFSA for the applicable academic year.
  • Apply for admission to a University of Hawaiʻi campus.
  • Submit a high school transcript so the institution can verify GPA and curriculum requirements.
  • Enroll in at least 12 credits applicable toward the student's degree.
  • Complete any financial-aid verification or additional documentation requested by the campus.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress and the required enrollment for renewal.
