Eligibility

  • Be a Minnesota resident.
  • Be enrolled in and attending an eligible comprehensive transition program.
  • Have tuition and fees that are not fully covered by the Federal Pell Grant, Minnesota State Grant, or institutional financial aid.
  • Attend an eligible participating Minnesota postsecondary institution.
  • Complete a current FAFSA or Minnesota Alternative State Financial Aid Application.

  • Contact the comprehensive transition program at the participating institution regarding grant eligibility and application procedures.
  • Complete any additional documentation or financial aid requirements requested by the institution.

How to Apply

  1. 1Complete the FAFSA or Minnesota Alternative State Financial Aid Application for the applicable academic year.
  2. 2Confirm enrollment in an eligible comprehensive transition program.
  3. 3Contact the transition program at the participating institution.
  4. 4Ask the institution about its process for receiving the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Grant.
  5. 5Complete any additional institutional forms or documentation requested.
  6. 6The institution determines remaining eligible tuition and fees after Pell Grant, Minnesota State Grant, and institutional aid.
