The James L. and Mary L. Geisman Future Leadership Scholarship helps students and returning learners in the greater Jackson area access college, trade-school, and certificate education. The program is unusually broad, accepting applicants beginning in ninth grade as well as graduating seniors, homeschool students, and returning adults pursuing education either full-time or part-time.

Eligibility
- Be a resident within a 50-mile radius of the center of Jackson, Michigan.
- Be in ninth grade or above.
- Graduating seniors, homeschool students, and returning adult learners may apply.
- Provide proof of acceptance to an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, trade school, or certificate program.
- Have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Full-time and part-time students may apply.
- Provide documentation of the current program balance owed after other financial aid has been applied.
Requirements
- Complete the James L. and Mary L. Geisman Future Leadership Scholarship application.
- Provide proof of acceptance into an eligible educational or training program.
- Provide documentation of the current program balance owed after other financial aid is applied.
- Provide all additional materials requested for the applicable scholarship round.
How to Apply
- 1Confirm that you live within 50 miles of central Jackson.
- 2Confirm that you have at least a 2.0 GPA.
- 3Apply to an accredited college, university, trade school, or certificate program.
- 4Complete the Geisman Future Leadership Scholarship application.
- 5Provide proof of program acceptance.
- 6Document the remaining educational balance after other financial aid has been applied.
- 7Submit all additional materials requested for the current scholarship cycle.
- 8Previous recipients may reapply when eligible for additional support.
