Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be an Iowa resident.
• Have recently completed an Iowa high school diploma, homeschool program, or high school equivalency diploma, or be age 20 or older.
• Enroll in an eligible high-demand program of study at a participating Iowa institution.
• Enroll at least half time, generally a minimum of six credit hours per semester or term.
• Pursue an eligible Title IV program lasting at least 15 weeks and leading to no more than an associate degree.
• Have a FAFSA Student Aid Index of 30,000 or less for the 2026–2027 academic year.
• Apply for all other available federal and state grants and scholarships.
• Meet all additional Iowa state financial-aid eligibility requirements.

Requirements

• Complete the FAFSA.
• Enroll in an eligible Last-Dollar Scholarship program.
• Attend a participating Iowa community college or eligible accredited private college.
• Participate in required college orientation.
• Register for courses with assistance from an academic advisor.
• Participate in required academic and career advising.
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
• Remain continuously enrolled at least half time during required terms.

How to Apply

2. 2Confirm that your college participates in the Last-Dollar Scholarship program.
3. 3Verify that your program appears on the current eligible-program list.
4. 4Enroll in at least six eligible credit hours.
5. 5Complete required college orientation and advising.
6. 6Monitor your financial-aid account for award information.
7. 7Renew the FAFSA and maintain continuous eligibility each year.
