Frank Genovese Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a graduating high school senior or current postsecondary student.
• Enroll in or currently attend an agriculture, natural resources, or veterinary program.
• Applicants under age 21 must have a parent or guardian who is an Oakland County Farm Bureau member.
• Applicants age 21 or older must maintain their own Oakland County Farm Bureau membership.
• Oakland County Farm Bureau membership is required, but residence in Oakland County is not required.
• Provide proof of enrollment in a college or trade school in an agricultural field before funds are released.

Requirements

• Complete the Frank Genovese Memorial Scholarship application electronically.
• Answer all required short essay questions within the stated word limits.
• Provide Farm Bureau membership information.
• Provide education and acceptance information.
• Describe agriculture, FFA, 4-H, leadership, service, community, and career experiences.
• Complete the applicant affirmation.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm qualifying Oakland County Farm Bureau membership.
2. 2Complete the electronic scholarship application.
3. 3Provide GPA, school, education, acceptance, and intended field information.
4. 4Describe agricultural and community organization involvement.
5. 5Complete the leadership and servant-leadership questions.
6. 6Answer questions about role models, personal strengths, challenges, agriculture careers, Farm Bureau, Oakland County agriculture, and agricultural challenges.
7. 7Submit the application electronically by April 30.
8. 8If selected, appear for recognition during Farm Bureau Day at the Oakland County Fair when requested.
9. 9Provide proof of enrollment before scholarship funds are released.
