Florida Farmworker Student Scholarship Program

The Florida Farmworker Student Scholarship Program provides need-based and merit-based financial assistance to eligible Florida students who are farmworkers or children of farmworkers. The program supports undergraduate degree and certificate study at participating Florida public postsecondary institutions and is limited to a maximum of 50 eligible recipients.

Eligibility

  • Be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, as determined by the postsecondary institution.
  • Be a farmworker or the child of a qualifying farmworker.
  • Have at least a 3.5 weighted cumulative high school GPA in courses creditable toward a diploma.
  • Complete at least 30 service hours.
  • Have at least a 90 percent high school attendance rate.
  • Have no disciplinary action documented on the high school transcript.
  • Complete the Florida Financial Aid Application by the published deadline.
  • Complete the FAFSA in time for it to be processed error-free by the required deadline.
  • Enroll in an undergraduate degree or certificate program at a participating Florida public postsecondary institution.
  • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per term, or the equivalent.

Requirements

  • Complete the Florida Financial Aid Application.
  • Complete the FAFSA.
  • Provide documentation confirming that the applicant or applicant's parent qualifies as a farmworker.
  • Provide an official high school transcript documenting GPA, attendance, service hours, and disciplinary history.
  • Enroll full time in an eligible undergraduate degree or certificate program.
  • Maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative institutional GPA for renewal.
  • Meet the institution's academic progress and enrollment requirements.

How to Apply
