The Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri Scholarship supports high school seniors from designated schools throughout the bank's service area in northern Missouri and southern Iowa. One recipient is selected from each participating branch area based on academic achievement, community activities and leadership, and school activities and leadership. Students continuing their education as well as students entering full-time military service may qualify.

Eligibility

  • Be a high school senior attending an eligible school within a participating Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri branch area.
  • Eligible Missouri branch areas include Unionville, Mercer/Princeton, Trenton, Bethany, and Gallatin/Jamesport.
  • Eligible southern Iowa branch areas include Centerville, Leon, and Corydon.
  • Students planning to continue their education after high school may apply.
  • Students enlisting in full-time military service are also eligible.
  • Applicants with a parent, sibling, or grandparent employed by Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri are not eligible.

Requirements

  • Complete the Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri Scholarship application.
  • Provide academic information, including GPA and other requested school information.
  • Provide information about college, postsecondary education, or military plans.
  • Provide information about high school and community activities and leadership.
  • Provide information about awards and honors.
  • Provide information about community service and volunteer activities.
  • Submit a 200-word essay outlining career goals and future plans.

How to Apply

  2. 2Complete the Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri Scholarship application.
  3. 3Attach a resume or document listing school activities, community activities, leadership positions, awards, honors, and volunteer service.
  4. 4Prepare the required 200-word career goals and future plans essay.
  5. 5Submit the completed application to the applicant's high school counselor or the appropriate Farmers Bank location by the published deadline.
  6. 6Education recipients receive the scholarship after completing their first semester of further education.
  7. 7Military recipients receive the scholarship after satisfactory completion of basic training or equivalent and assignment to a duty station.
