Eligibility

  • Be an Indiana resident by the required residency deadline.
  • Currently reside in, or have resided immediately before college enrollment, in Allen, Lake, Marion, St. Joseph, or Vanderburgh County.
  • Participate in student teaching or a school administration internship as part of degree requirements.
  • Attend an eligible Indiana institution.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.
  • Be a first-time undergraduate student completing student teaching or a graduate student completing a school administration internship.
  • Meet the minimum GPA required by the institution's school of education (or at least a 2.0 if no institutional minimum exists). Graduate administration applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Agree in writing to apply for employment in an underserved Indiana county and, if hired, teach or serve there for at least three years.

  • Verify enrollment in an eligible Indiana educator preparation program.
  • Meet all academic eligibility requirements.
  • Sign the required service commitment.
