DEMCO Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a DEMCO member as defined by the DEMCO Foundation bylaws.
• Have maintained qualifying DEMCO membership for at least 12 consecutive months at the time of application.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Plan to attend an accredited Louisiana university, community college, trade school, vocational school, technical school, or other eligible educational program.
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Requirements

• Complete the online DEMCO Foundation Scholarship application.
• Submit an official transcript showing final grades for the current semester.
• Submit three letters of recommendation from individuals who are not family members or DEMCO or DEMCO Foundation board members.
• Submit an acceptance letter if you are a first-time or transferring student.
• Submit a copy of your current fee bill.
• Submit a 500- to 750-word essay about your community involvement, personal growth, and plans for future service.

How to Apply

1. 1Complete the online DEMCO Foundation Scholarship application during the annual application window.
2. 2Request an official transcript and have it submitted according to DEMCO Foundation instructions.
3. 3Obtain three current recommendation letters.
4. 4Prepare the required 500- to 750-word community service essay.
5. 5Include your acceptance letter if you are a first-time or transferring student.
6. 6Include a copy of your fee bill.
7. 7Submit all required materials before the third Thursday in June.
