Eligibility

  • Be a high school senior planning to attend a postsecondary institution or a currently enrolled undergraduate.
  • Applicant and/or parent or guardian must reside within Dawson PPD territory boundaries or the district's service territory footprint.
  • Pursue a degree, certificate, or professional trade certification in a field important to the electric utility industry.
  • Qualified fields may include engineering, mechanics, HVAC technology, electrical technology, GIS, energy services, accounting, marketing, economic development, communications, computer programming, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and related fields.
  • Prior recipients of this scholarship are not eligible.

Requirements

  • Complete the scholarship application.
  • Submit a resume or academic resume.
  • Submit a 500-word essay connecting the applicant's field of study to the future success and innovation of the electric utility industry.
  • Provide academic information and relevant experience.
  • Provide evidence of community involvement and career goals.
