Dawson PPD Future Business Leader Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a high school senior planning to attend a postsecondary institution or a currently enrolled undergraduate.
• Applicant and/or parent or guardian must reside within Dawson PPD territory boundaries or the district's service territory footprint.
• Demonstrate an entrepreneurial and business-oriented mindset.
• Prior recipients of this award are not eligible.

Requirements

• Complete the official scholarship application.
• Submit a Community Challenge Proposal addressing a problem, need, or opportunity in an eligible Dawson PPD community.
• Present the Community Challenge Proposal as a 3- to 5-page short business plan or a 3- to 5-minute video pitch.
• Include the problem, proposed solution, feasibility and implementation plan, simple budget, supporting research, necessary resources, and expected community impact.
• Submit a 250- to 500-word Entrepreneurial Drive Essay or a 1- to 2-minute video response describing an unconventional solution to a significant personal challenge and lessons about resilience.

1. 1Identify a real problem, need, or opportunity within an eligible Dawson PPD community.
2. 2Develop an innovative and feasible solution.
3. 3Create either a 3- to 5-page business plan or 3- to 5-minute video pitch.
4. 4Complete the entrepreneurial-resilience essay or video response.
5. 5Submit the complete application by the published deadline.
6. 6If selected, complete the first semester or quarter with at least a 2.0 GPA.
7. 7Provide a transcript and proof of continued enrollment before payment.
