The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers more than 160 scholarship funds supporting students throughout western Massachusetts and surrounding communities. Students complete one common application and are automatically considered for all scholarship funds for which they meet the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility

  • Plan to enroll for the upcoming fall semester at an accredited postsecondary institution in the United States.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students may apply.
  • Full-time and part-time students may apply.
  • Most scholarship funds support residents of Franklin, Hampden, or Hampshire County in Massachusetts.
  • Some scholarship funds are also available to eligible residents of Berkshire County, Massachusetts or Hartford County, Connecticut.
  • Meet the individual geographic, academic, field-of-study, school, financial need, community involvement, or other requirements of one or more scholarship funds.

Requirements

  • Complete the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts online scholarship application.
  • Upload a recent academic transcript that is no more than 30 days old.
  • The transcript must show the student's name, school, completed and current courses, grades, and cumulative GPA when calculated by the school.
  • Upload the applicable FAFSA Submission Summary, MASFA, or approved financial aid documentation for the upcoming academic year.
  • Hartford County applicants may submit the applicable AACTUS documentation.
  • Complete all applicable application questions and required essays.
  • Submit the complete application and required documents by the annual deadline.

How to Apply

  1. 1Create or log in to your existing Community Foundation scholarship portal account.
  2. 2Complete the common scholarship application.
  3. 3Upload your most recent acceptable academic transcript.
  4. 4Upload your FAFSA Submission Summary, MASFA, AACTUS when applicable, or other documentation approved by the Foundation.
  5. 5Complete all applicable questions and essays in the application.
  6. 6Submit the complete application by March 1.
  7. 7The Community Foundation automatically matches your application with all scholarship funds for which you appear eligible.
  8. 8Monitor your email and scholarship portal for award notifications and required recipient forms.
