CMMA Academic Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a graduating high school senior or current student planning to pursue education or training in a manufacturing-related field.
• Plan to attend a two-year college, four-year college, technical college, certificate program, or other qualifying training program.
• Pursue a manufacturing or skilled-trades field such as manufacturing, welding, machining, engineering, or a related area.
• Meet the requirements of the current Central Minnesota Manufacturers Association scholarship application.

Requirements

• Complete the CMMA Student Scholarship Application.
• Submit a 500-word essay explaining why you are interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing or the skilled trades.
• Provide information about current school activities or organizations.
• Provide work-experience information.
• Provide volunteer or community-involvement information.
• List relevant certificates or technical coursework, including CTE classes, welding, robotics, CAD, or similar experience.
• Provide a reference from a teacher, employer, mentor, or advisor.
• Submit an academic transcript; an unofficial transcript is acceptable.
• An optional letter of recommendation may also be submitted.

2. 2Complete the online CMMA Student Scholarship Application.
3. 3Write the required 500-word manufacturing or skilled-trades career essay.
4. 4Document school activities, employment, community involvement, and relevant technical coursework or certifications.
5. 5Provide contact information for a teacher, employer, mentor, or advisor who can serve as a reference.
6. 6Upload your academic transcript.
7. 7Consider submitting the optional recommendation letter to strengthen your application.
8. 8Submit all required materials by the annual deadline.
