Clarence Wigington Architectural Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Be currently enrolled in a NAAB-accredited architecture degree program in Minnesota.
• Have three years or less remaining to complete the architecture degree.
• Demonstrate academic performance, personal interests, and aptitude showing promise for completing rigorous architectural education and professional preparation.
• Demonstrate an understanding of Clarence Wigington's legacy and a desire to carry that legacy forward.
• Demonstrate a commitment to pursuing architectural licensure in Minnesota.

Requirements

• Complete the Clarence Wigington Architectural Scholarship application.
• Provide candidate and academic information.
• Submit the most recent available FAFSA.
• Disclose other scholarships and grants received.
• Submit a current unofficial academic transcript.
• Provide the expected graduation date.
• Submit a concise representation of recent architectural design work.
• Submit at least one and no more than two recommendation letters.
• Submit a personal statement.
• Participate in an interview if selected as a finalist.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm enrollment in a NAAB-accredited architecture program in Minnesota with three years or less remaining.
2. 2Review the life, career, accomplishments, and challenges of Clarence Wigington.
3. 3Complete the scholarship application.
4. 4Gather your most recent FAFSA and information about other scholarships or grants.
5. 5Obtain your current unofficial transcript.
6. 6Prepare a concise representation of recent architectural design work.
7. 7Request one or two recommendation letters.
8. 8Write the required personal statement addressing your interest in architecture, related interests, accomplishments, understanding of Clarence Wigington's legacy, and how you hope to make a similar impact on the profession.
9. 9Submit the complete application before the annual deadline.
10. 10If selected as a finalist, participate in an interview with members of the Wigington Committee.
