Eligibility

  • Be a California resident or meet the eligibility requirements for an exemption under California law.
  • Attend or plan to attend an eligible California college, university, or qualifying institution.
  • Demonstrate financial need and meet the applicable income and asset ceilings.
  • Meet the academic requirements for the applicable Cal Grant A award category.
  • Be enrolled at least half time in an eligible undergraduate program.
  • Not already hold a bachelor's or professional degree.
  • Meet applicable federal or California Dream Act financial aid eligibility requirements.

Requirements

  • Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or California Dream Act Application.
  • Ensure that a certified grade point average is submitted to the California Student Aid Commission when required.
  • Provide any additional documents requested by the California Student Aid Commission or the student's institution.
