Basin Electric Scholarship Program

The Basin Electric Scholarship Program provides more than 170 scholarships each school year to eligible dependent children connected to Basin Electric and its member cooperative network. Scholarships are available to children of Basin Electric and subsidiary employees, children of member cooperative employees, and dependents of consumer-members served by participating Basin Electric member cooperatives.

Eligibility

  • Qualify through one of Basin Electric's eligible scholarship groups.
  • Eligible groups include dependent children of Basin Electric or subsidiary employees.
  • Eligible groups also include dependent children of employees of Basin Electric member cooperatives.
  • One scholarship is designated for each participating member cooperative to award to a dependent of a consumer-member.
  • Applicants to the Basin Electric and subsidiary employee scholarship must be age 25 or younger.
  • Applicants to the Basin Electric and subsidiary employee scholarship must be U.S. citizens.
  • Applicants to the Basin Electric and subsidiary employee scholarship must be high school seniors or graduates who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in an undergraduate program.
  • Eligible education may include accredited two-year colleges, four-year colleges or universities, and vocational or technical schools.
  • Additional eligibility requirements may be established by the participating member cooperative for consumer-member scholarships.

Requirements

  • Complete the scholarship application applicable to the applicant's eligibility category.
  • Provide all academic and supporting information required by Basin Electric or the participating member cooperative.
  • Consumer-member applicants should obtain current scholarship requirements and application materials from their participating local cooperative.
  • Basin Electric and subsidiary employees obtain employee-dependent scholarship applications through Basin Electric's internal employee system.
