Eligibility

  • Hold an active amateur radio license.
  • Most applicants must hold an active FCC-issued amateur radio license.
  • Active foreign amateur radio operators may qualify for certain scholarship funds.
  • Plan to attend an eligible accredited college, university, community college, graduate program, or trade school.
  • Meet the individual license-class, geographic, academic, institutional, major, financial-need, or amateur-radio requirements for one or more scholarship funds.
  • Submit a complete online application with all required supporting documents.

Requirements

  • Complete the ARRL Foundation online scholarship application.
  • Submit transcripts covering the applicant's applicable academic history.
  • Upload all required documents with the application rather than sending them separately.

  • Submit a recommendation from an officer of an ARRL-affiliated club when required for a particular award.
