Eligibility
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with at least six months of Arkansas residency before the applicable deadline.
- Attend an eligible Arkansas institution in a bachelor’s program or an associate program creditable toward a bachelor’s degree.
- Meet ADHE’s published second-semester-sophomore-or-above and 2.75 GPA requirements; obtain academic credit and campus liaison or faculty endorsement.
- Be accepted by The Washington Center and selected for available Arkansas funding.
Requirements
- Apply through The Washington Center, not a separate SAMS award application.
- Arkansas is absent from TWC’s current 2027 state-scholarship list, despite ADHE’s program listing. Ask TWC and ADHE to confirm the term’s Arkansas allocation before paying or enrolling.
- The state award is up to $6,000. TWC’s Arkansas promotional page mentions up to $7,000 of support; do not assume that is the state scholarship amount.
- Internship admission deadlines are separate from state funding approval. There is no confirmed current Arkansas scholarship deadline.
- Awards depend on available funds; oversubscribed eligible applicants are considered first-come, first-served. Withdrawal may require a refund.
- Confirm program fees, campus tuition, housing and remaining costs with your liaison.
How to Apply
- 1Ask the campus liaison to confirm academic credit and endorsement.
- 2Contact TWC about current Arkansas funding and the applicable internship admission deadline.
- 3Complete TWC admission and requested documents.
- 4Obtain written award confirmation and review remaining costs before committing.
