Fall 2026 competition for research beginning in 2027; campus deadlines earlier

OpensTo Be Announced
DeadlineNovember 1, 2026

Eligibility

  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident enrolled full-time at an approved Arkansas college in a bachelor’s degree or a program creditable toward one, including eligible associate programs.
  • Have at least 30 completed semester hours before funding begins, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, and a tenured or full-time faculty mentor.

Requirements

  • ADHE’s published deadline is November 1, 2026. Campus preparation/review deadlines are earlier: University of Arkansas collection October 14–16; A-State RTT submission October 19 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Submit the signed cover page, student/mentor forms and resumes, transcript/current classes, abstract, research proposal, budget/justification, mentor support and two additional faculty recommendations in the required order.
  • Secure the institution’s matching commitment. Confirm your campus budget: University of Arkansas advertises its own supply/mentor allocation, which differs from the state package.
  • Maintain 3.25 GPA, satisfactory progress and the approved research. Additional awards require competitive reapplication, with at most three funded academic years.
  • Complete findings and expenditure reporting for the approved project period; unspent funds are returned. Withdrawal or failure to satisfy research/academic conditions can require a refund.
  • November 1 is a Sunday. The rules allow a following-business-day extension, but do not rely on that without ADHE/campus confirmation; meet the earlier campus deadline.

How to Apply

  1. 1Contact your faculty mentor and campus research/sponsored-programs office immediately.
  2. 2Prepare the proposal, budget, recommendations and institutional matching approval.
  3. 3Complete campus review and submit through the campus process or directly to ADHE as instructed.
  4. 4If selected, accept the award and follow campus disbursement, research and reporting requirements.
