Important application dates

This scholarship offers more than one application cycle. Review each window carefully before applying.

Next annual July 1 application deadline; opening confirmation needed

OpensTo Be Announced
DeadlineJuly 1, 2027

Eligibility

  • Obtain Arkansas residency certification through the application and sworn affidavit. Linked rules require six continuous months of bona fide residency before application; mere physical presence is insufficient.
  • Apply and be accepted at a school under current state contract in chiropractic medicine, dentistry, optometry, podiatric medicine or veterinary medicine.
  • Meet school admissions and institutional selection requirements; certified residency and admission do not guarantee a funded contract slot.
  • Attend full-time and remain in good academic standing with satisfactory progress toward timely completion.

Requirements

  • Apply through Arkansas SAMS by the annual July 1 deadline; next deadline is July 1, 2027. Confirm when that cycle opens and the current school/slot list with ADHE.
  • Provide residency affidavit, admission and other requested certification records.
  • Confirm the actual contract benefit and remaining charges with the school. The sponsor's displayed award table ends at FY2025–26 and is not a confirmed 2027 benefit schedule.
  • The state does not normally pay for repeated coursework. Report program, residency and enrollment changes as required.
  • Optional dental/optometry loans are separate from the contract grant and involve a promissory note, financial-need review and practice/repayment terms. Ask ADHE about current availability before accepting one.

How to Apply

  1. 1Confirm the health-profession program and school have a current Arkansas contract.
  2. 2Apply for residency certification and submit the affidavit through the SAMS/ADHE process.
  3. 3Apply separately to the professional school and supply acceptance details; the school selects recipients within funded allocations.
  4. 4Review your contract grant and any separately offered loan terms before enrolling, then maintain full-time satisfactory progress.
