Spring–Summer 2027; posted application deadline

OpensTo Be Announced
DeadlineOctober 9, 2026

Eligibility

  • Be a bona fide Arkansas resident enrolled in an approved Arkansas graduate nursing program leading to an eligible master's or doctoral nursing degree.
  • Meet good academic standing and financial-need criteria and obtain Board approval.
  • Qualify for the selected practice or educator route. Existing master's-in-nursing holders seeking post-master's certification in another specialty are not eligible.
  • Meet the full-time/part-time conditions in your accepted agreement. The current packet lists 5–8 credits part-time, while older loan-type pages say 6–8; confirm the applicable route before relying on eligibility.
  • The current 2026–27 packet includes University of Arkansas at Monticello and nurse-anesthesia options absent from some older webpages; confirm exact institution/specialty approval.

Requirements

  • The Spring–Summer 2027 application was due October 9, 2026, and the current packet says no late applications are accepted. The next intake deadline is not posted.
  • Send a complete signed application and attachments to your own participating university: acceptance letter, official transcript, advisor-signed course-intent form and required federal tax-return pages.
  • Apply with all attachments each new funding cycle and submit successful-completion transcripts after each funded semester.
  • This is a loan until service is fulfilled. Practice and educator routes require qualifying full-time Arkansas service for each funded year; even assistance for one semester can require a full service year.
  • Noncompliance can require repayment with interest. Confirm employment-hour limits, funded courses and approved service positions before accepting.
  • Summer funding needs confirmation: current packet is explicitly Spring–Summer 2027, while an older application webpage says no summer funding.

How to Apply

  1. 1For future intake, confirm your institution, graduate specialty, enrollment and loan route with university staff.
  2. 2Download the currently applicable packet and collect all required records and advisor signatures.
  3. 3Submit the complete packet through your university by its posted deadline; do not send a general SAMS scholarship request instead.
  4. 4If selected, review the promissory/service agreement, document each funded semester and later submit approved Arkansas service for loan-to-scholarship conversion.
