Eligibility

  • Be an Arkansas resident who graduated from an Arkansas high-school/home-school/equivalency route, or meet the three-year Arkansas residency alternative for an out-of-state diploma/equivalency.
  • Enroll part-time or full-time at an ADHE-approved institution in a qualifying certificate or associate program in STEM or a regional/state high-demand field.
  • Meet initial credential restrictions and institutional SAP; continued aid ends upon an associate degree, five funded semesters or failure of continuing eligibility.

Requirements

  • Complete the SAMS application and FAFSA, and verify your institution and exact program are approved.
  • Sign and comply with the grant agreement's mentoring and at least ten hours of community service each funded semester.
  • Agree to reside in Arkansas for three consecutive years and be employed beginning within six months after completing the certificate/associate credential, unless ADHE approves a deferral.
  • Understand that failure to comply with the agreement can convert the grant to a repayable loan.
